You might as well do what you love
Day 83 / 365
Everyone’s out there trying to figure out what to do with their lives. So far, I am yet to meet someone who has got the answer. And so, all of us go about our days, devoid of hope or goals.
When we can’t come up with the life that we want, we try to live the life that others want. Our parents wanted us to get good grades, or to get into a good college. So we adopted those goals and studied hard. We saw how happy our friends who moved to the US looked in their Instagram photos, so we started thinking about how we can get their lives. Maybe they have it all figured out? we thought.
“You started a job
That you hate when your sober and hate even more when you’re not”
We get jobs we don’t like, earning money and moving up the ladder to achieve goals that we hope we will enjoy. We think so much about what we need to do. We never stop to think about what we want to do.
Over the last few months, we saw 1000s and 1000s of people losing their jobs. A lot of those people might have been miserable at those jobs. Some might have sacrificed their passions to pursue those jobs. Someone who loved to paint, or to travel, gave up that to become a Software Dev, only to be laid off.
This brings me to the point of this blog. You can fail at doing something that you hate. So you might as well take a chance and do something that you like.
Life is short. If you have found something that you like doing, make time for it.
