Using ChatGPT as a Guide
Day 81 / 365
For weeks now I have been trying to create a product using ChatGPT. I am looking for something that ChatGPT can produce that can be of value to people, something they will be willing to pay for. I haven’t been able to do that yet, but in the process, I discovered something else.
While I am looking for product ideas, I am still working on my freelance projects. These sometimes require me to work on things I have little experience with, and usually, I would get a friend who is more experienced in that domain to help me. Recently I found that ChatGPT can play that role quite well.
Suppose you were trying a new recipe, and you are stuck at a step. You could google, but that would take a lot of time. You will first have to figure out the right keywords to search for. Then you would have to browse through several websites to find your answer. The easier way is to just call your mom and ask her in plain words.
That’s what it's like to ask ChatGPT for help. And I have found that it works remarkably well, at least for coding. The new GPT-4 model is even more reliable.
If you are not using ChatGPT to help you with your work, you are surely missing out.
