The biggest realization I have had growing up is that Life is not just about having fun. Sometimes, life will ask you to put in the effort without offering anything in return. And you just have to do it. That is how the game works. It’s unfair but it's life.

I was listening to a podcast in which 2 comics were talking about how they got their start. You might have heard of the show “The Impractical Jokers”, a show created by 4 aspiring comedians who were also best friends from high school. It was a huge hit, and it's been going on for 9 seasons now. But the guys who made the show were in their mid-30s at the time. And they were nowhere near successful.

Sal Vulcano, one of the creators of the show said on the podcast that for 9 years he lived in a small studio apartment and he did not even own a bed or even a mattress. he slept on his couch.

And they were not an overnight success either. They pitched a lot of TV Show ideas but failed. Then one day they had a meeting with some executives, but they had no idea to pitch to them. So the day before they went on lunch and came up with the idea for the show. And they went to Times Square and shot some footage with their phones. This last-minute idea is what became the show that changed all of their lives and made them multi-millionaires.

So I guess my point is that if you want to get something in life you have to just keep on showing up and doing what life asks you to do. Most of the time it will not amount to anything. But you don’t give up. And then one day out of nowhere you will get that thing that you deserve.
