Things that happy people do

Day 315 / 365

Self-help books about motivation go on about traits that successful people share. But what if the aim of your life is to be happy, not successful. Both of these things might not go hand in hand. There are failures who are happy and content with their lives, and there are successful people who might suffer from depression. What then are some traits that happy people share?

Happy people are for solutions, they are not against problems

When faced with a problem, people who tend to be happier would have a response similar to “How can I solve this?” or “How can I prevent this from happening again”. Other people might go straight into victim mode and think “Why does this always happen to me?”

Happy people enjoy the little things in life more

When was the last time you actually tasted your food fully, rather than just absent-mindedly eating it while doing something else?

People who take the time to cherish all the little moments of the day tend to be happier. Life is out there for us to enjoy fully. We just have to be aware of it

Happy people are optimistic

While being too much of a positive thinker is thought of as being weird or ignorant in today's world, It's still true that people who see the glass as half empty tend to live a happier life. They are not delusional, they accept that failure might be a possibility. They just know that like everything else, this too is temporary.
