There’s always tomorrow
But I don’t let it get me down
Or cause me too much sorrow
There’s no doubt about who I am
I always have tomorrow
I’m grateful that I have always had teachers and mentors that have pushed me to work harder. They have taught me the idea of perseverance, of not giving up.
I had a math teacher in school, who said something that has stuck with me ever since.
“I’ve never been too afraid about deadlines. Even if I am not able to finish something during the day, I would still have the entire night, no one can take that from me. While others sleep, I can get my work done.”
What I took away from this was that I should always look to go the extra distance before I ever think of giving up. There are a lot of ways available to tackle a task if only you are willing to put in the efforts.
Conventional thinking makes us put a lot of artificial bounds on our abilities. This is why we give up so easily. I have been guilty of this as well lately. You might remember from my vlog about how I am not able to make any use of my weekend. Because I believe that I am too tired and that I should use the weekend to rest.
But everyone would be resting on the weekend, how’s one supposed to get ahead then, if you just follow the conventions?
