The thing about consistency

Day 150 / 365

It’s not what we do once in a while that shapes our lives, it’s what we do consistently

There are lots of things in life that are tough. It’s tough to run a marathon. It’s tough to get into a good college. It’s tough to lose 20kgs in a month. It’s tough to get six-pack abs.

But who’s to say that the tough way is the only way to achieve things in life. Sure, it’s tough to get a lot done in less time. What isn’t tough though, is to get a lot done in a lot of time.

You can cry about how you are not a reader and can never finish a novel. Or you could read just 5–10 pages a day and get about 10 books done in a year.

You can put off exercising thinking it’s too much work. Or you can start by just walking a km or two every day and see significant results within a year.

You can keep on complaining about all the stress you have and how you need a break to get away from it all. Or you could sit and meditate for 2 minutes each morning and soon realize the ever-present inner peace within you.

You could be like the past me, who wanted to write a blog for I don’t remember how long, but never thought I had the discipline to write. Or you can start small, and soon have 150 blog posts to your name :)

You can live your life in doubt that you’ll never catch up with the speed of the hare, or you can go slow and steady like the turtle and win the race!
