The 10x Rule

Day 330 / 366

My mind was a mess today, and I had nothing to write. What was bothering me was that I had lots and lots to do but I was scared that I don’t have enough time or energy to do so. All this while I have been waiting for more work to come, and now that it’s here, I am afraid that I am going to screw it up.

This was when I remembered a book I read a long time back, called The 10x Rule, and I thought I should write about it, just to recall myself the things that I learned from it.

I guessed that maybe I had written about it already, and a quick Google search proved me right —

On a side note, it’s awesome that I can find a 5-year-old blog written by me by simply googling. You should go read the blog above to know more about what’s in that book.

I’ll preface this by saying that the book is terrible. It is that cliche self-help book that most people hate. So I would never recommend you read it. But for me personally that book signifies a hope that I can dare to dream 10x bigger. That I should not put limits on what I can and cannot do.

The book is like a dose of steroids for me. I remind myself of the 10x rule — which in a nutshell is to always do way more than you think is possible, every time that I am low on motivation, and I think I got too much on my plate.

We have a lot of self-imposed limits, I know at least I do. It’s only when you forget about them and dare to dream, that you find out they are false. So that’s what the plan is for the remainder of the year. I am going 10x.
