Day 197 / 366

Since it was Monday today, I made the usual attempt of compiling all of my pending tasks for the week in a nice To-Do list. This is something that I have been failing miserably for the past few months. I wanted to try something different this time. Here’s what I think are the most important features of a good Task management system

Accessibility

It should be easily accessible from both your phone and your laptop. At any given time you should easily be able to see what tasks you have lined up, and also be able to easily pull your phone out and add a new task. If it's too much work to add tasks, your list will soon become outdated.

Search and Filtering

You should be able to easily search and filter your tasks. Sometimes you need to focus on a particular project and it helps to see a filtered view of just that project’s tasks.

Highlighting and coloring

It helps if you can choose different colors for different tasks, or highlight certain words. It allows you to get a lot of info about where you stand with a quick glance on the list. For instance, I could color all of my super urgent tasks red. So if I open the list and don’t see any red, that means that things are going good.

Based on this, the tool that I have chosen now to manage my Tasks is notion. It ticks all of the boxes above. For this week I will manage all of my tasks on Notion, and I will post an update next Monday with my review.
