Super Saiyan
Day 127 / 366
In the Ramayana, Hanuman had to be reminded of his powers when he faced the impossible task of reaching Lanka to save Sita. He felt powerless, yet when the bear king Jambavan told him about his past, about how powerful he actually was, he was able to reach Lanka in a single leap.
There is a similar story arc in the popular anime Dragon Ball Z. Goku and his best friend Krillin are stuck on a dying planet trying to defeat the evil Freeza. All hope is lost, Freeza is far too powerful for them even to put a scratch on. But when Goku sees Freeza kill Krillin, something inside him breaks. He is able to tap into the enormous source of energy and turn it into a different form, a Super Saiyan.
This is not a coincidence. The character of Goku is based on the Chinese mythical god Sun Wukong, or Monkey King. And there are theories that this god is inspired by the Hindu god Hanuman. But I digress.
The reason I am reminded of this is that I really belive that each on of us has that enormous source of power hidden within. Sometimes we just need to be reminded of it, and how to tap into it. It could either be through a guide, or it could be a result of a trauma. But either way, all of us are capable of going Super Saiyan every once in a while.
