Day 328 / 365

A lot of us live our lives in a reactive mode. We let life happen to us every day. Things come into our lives, and we react to them. Many of us don’t have any clear objective to get anywhere. All we are concerned with is how to get away from where we are now.

We face a lot of problems each day, and all we worry about is how to make those problems go away. The issue with that is problems are a part of life, they’ll never end. The best we could hope for living life this way is that one day we will have “fewer problems”. Is that really something to aspire to?

The difference between people like this and people who are actually passionate about something in life is that the former focuses on getting rid of things, while the latter focuses on creating new things. It’s not possible to feel positive about a life that revolves around eliminating problems. To live life to the fullest, you must focus on creating instead.

The first step towards getting into the creative mindset is to get a vision. Your vision should compel you each morning to get up and get to work. If it doesn’t, you need to modify your vision. It’s not what the vision is that matters, it’s what it makes you do.
