Day 77 / 366

When you lose someone you love, you regret not spending every second that you had them telling them how much you adored them. It’s only in hindsight that you realize how much they meant to you.

I recently finished watching this 14-episode series called “One Day”, and it is one of the most moving series I have seen in a long time. I won’t write much about it because I would not want to spoil it, but in short, it is a story about a girl and a boy who met at their graduation ball, and it follows their lives for the next two decades.

Each episode happens a year after the previous one, and that is why with just 14 episodes the series has captured the reality of life, friendship, and love more accurately than most other series.

Watching this made me realize how stupid we are sometimes. We give so much importance to fights, or arguments, or disagreements with our loved ones, that we are OK pushing them away from our lives. We start hating people, yet we spend our lives looking for love. If only we knew how fragile our existence is, how easy it is to lose people from your life and never see them again, I am sure we would choose love over hate every time.

If you have cut someone off from your life, do you know what your last words to them were? Would you be happy with those being the absolute last words you ever say to them?
