Day 361 / 366

5 more days to go for the year to end. We are almost there!

I am a big fan of New Year's Resolutions, so I have been thinking of which ones to pick next year.

My main resolution this year was to write one blog a day and to read one book a week. The reading part I could not do, even after starting a book club. But I am glad that at least I should be able to finish the daily blog one.

I don’t think I am going to go for a strict daily resolution like this one for next year. While at time writing is therapeutic and it helps me process my thoughts, many times it is stressful as well. This year especially was tough mentally, with me starting a company in the worst possible economy, and there were days when I didn’t feel like writing at all. I still made myself do it though, and I think that is a valuable lesson, but I think next year I will go a bit easier on myself.

I won’t say that I regret it though. I am glad that I have been able to do this, and out of 360 odd blogs, I am sure that there are at least 50 good ones. That is one good blog a week. And I will continue writing as well, but only when I feel like it.

I think next year I would focus more on increasing my productivity and efficiency. I would come up with some sort of metric to track that and make goals for it.

New Year's resolutions are a true life hack. There is just a sort of energy in the air, that gives you that little extra motivation to work towards your goals.
