New Beginnings

I know what you might be thinking. 2019’s over. You had your 365 blogs Pranav. What are you still doing here?

Let me tell you a little story. Back in the 60s, there was a race in Europe to find out who would be the first person to sail solo around the world. 4 people took part in the race, one of which was an Italian writer. After sailing alone for over 10 months, he was just days away from the finishing line, and he was surely going to win by a huge margin. But to everyone’s surprise, he turned around, as he had fallen in love with the sea, and he wanted to go around one more time.

As it turns out, I really really enjoy writing these blogs. Sure it was a challenge doing them daily last year, and there were days when I had to force myself to just right something. But I would be lying if I said it didn’t feel awesome to finish the day with a blog. That way I would have achieved to do at least something each day, no matter what.

So yes, I would still be continuing these. Although I don’t want to put any pressure on myself this time, so I’ll just write one whenever I feel like it. And also I won’t be shouting about these on my social media. I focused on the quantity last year, this year it will all be about the quality. Let’s see what sort of an audience I can gather writing good blogs, without the gimmick of a challenge attached to it.

While the blogs last year were generic, as I wanted to cater to as many people as possible, this time around I would write more about things that I like. Things like history, music, and even coding. These would be blogs that I would love to read myself, and hopefully, with them I can reach people who have a similar taste. At some point, I would also want to switch these over from medium to my own website.
