Money Money Money
Day 188 / 366
I have a weird relationship with money. On the one hand, I like having money, which is a big motivation for me to work hard. I want to earn more so that I can lead a life of comfort. On the other hand, seeing rich people live lavish lifestyles pisses me off.
I am writing this because today I have seen hundreds of posts on the internet about the Ambani Wedding celebrations and just how otherworldly it seems. They paid 83 crores to Justin Beiber to do one show. I am not sure when I will be able to make that amount of money in my life.
Then there’s the Indian Cricket Team. The BCCI has allocated a prize money of 125 crores for the team for winning the T20 World Cup. And the craziest part is that for most of the players, their share of that amount, which would still be a few crores, would feel like nothing. Some of them have watches that are more expensive than that.
We can say as much as we want that money does not buy you happiness, but the truth is that having money is much nicer than not having it. Trust me, we would all like to have Justin Beiber or Salman Khan dance at our wedding. Not a single one would say no to that.
