Day 259 / 366

Back in 2017, I was into running. I used to go for runs every other day and keep track of my speed and distance covered. I was preparing to take part in my first 10 K run. While practising, the furthest I have ever run was 7.5 km.

But my best performance came on the actual day of the run. I ran 10 km. And I did that in 65 minutes, the fastest pace I had ever had. I think the reason for that was that I was not running alone. There were 100s of others participating, and somehow their combined enthusiasm gave me the motivation and energy I needed to finish the run.

I think the same goes for staying up all night. I wrote in a previous blog about how I have not been able to stay up all night and work ever since college. But as I write this blog right now, I am having a hackathon in my office with some of my team. It’s 10:44 PM and I am not sleepy at all. And I am dead sure I will be able to continue working till the morning.

Just like the run, I think it seems feasible today because I am not alone. We as a team are staying up and working. Supporting each other, and cheering each other up. This is what I had in college. Every all-nighter I had, was always in a group.

Overall I think this day has been a success. And it’s reassuring to know that even though I am freshly 30, I still am as energetic as I was in my first year of college.
