Ignore the naysayers

Day 273 / 365

I have been doing a little reading challenge this year. So far I have read 39 books, and I plan to do 52. A friend of mine who knew about this asked me if I made notes of the books that I read, and I said not really. His opinion was that there was no point in reading all these books if I am not noting down what I am learning from them.

Which brings me to the point of today’s blog. No matter what you do, there will always be people who would pick out flaws in it. These are Naysayers, and you need to distance yourself from them.

The main reason why I started this book reading was that last year I realized I was wasting too much time on youtube. So I chose to close Youtube for a while and use that time to read books instead. And it’s always good to have a bigger goal in mind, which is why I chose to do 52 in 52 weeks.

Nothing you do will ever be perfect. So someone pointing out the flaws should not come as a surprise. You should expect it, and ignore it. What’s more important is that you should not become a naysayer yourself. Don’t talk yourself out of trying something new. Don’t be afraid of failing. It’s always better to try to do something good than doing nothing at all.
