I get knocked down, but I get up again

Day 152 / 366

I was on a call with a CEO today for a potential freelance project, and one thing she asked me was — “what would you say is your superpower?”.

Now at 10 PM on a Friday, I was way too exhausted to answer a question like this. But I need projects right now, so I knew I had to answer something good. And I quickly came up with one superpower that I definitely have — Perseverance.

I have faith in myself that no matter how difficult a task is and no matter how ill-equipped I am to do it if it needs to be done, I’ll get it done. This thought is what has gotten me out of the darkest and toughest phases of my life.

I remember once in an argument saying to someone that they can hurt me as much as they like, they can break me, they can push me down. I’ll fall, I might stay fallen for a while. But I am damn sure that I will get up. You’ll get tired of pushing me down before I ever get tired of getting back up again. Kind of like that awesome scene from Avengers Endgame. Where Captain America is left alone, badly injured with his shield broken. And he is facing Thanos and his entire army. Yet he still gets up, picks what’s left of his shield, and charges towards them.

Yes, I have my issues. Yes, I have my weaknesses. Yes, things do get me down. But I’ll always get back up.
