Grinding away unnoticed
Day 46 / 366
I was watching an old livestream of an Indian YouTuber who got emotional because he had reached 100k subscribers. He mentioned how he had been working so hard for over 5 years to finally get to this milestone. Moreover, for the first 3 years he hardly even had an audience.
That part struck me. So many of us are in that phase of our lives. Grinding away in obscurity. We are getting no rewards, no recognition. Yet we are still showing up every day, doing what we know is right.
I think that we should treat this phase as a practice session. This is our training. We are learning how to be great at what we do. This way when the opportunity does arise we will be prepared for it.
This is the stage where most people give up. Because we are used to getting instant gratification. We want to see results right away. And if we don’t we find it hard to get the motivation to continue.
But we should remember that good things come to those who wait. Keep doing what you are doing and don’t worry about the results. The results will come when they have to.
