Google AI sucks at generating summaries

A few months back when I used Google Search I saw a popup asking me to try an experimental feature where Google would provide you with a summary of all the content related to what you searched for. This was obviously done using Generative AI. And being an AI critic I decided to give it a try. And for the most part, it worked well for me.

But recently I guess this feature was released to the general public, and the results were hilarious. Just check out some of these -

And apparently, it just took shit people posted on Reddit as gospel and presented it as fact. A user on twitter posted this absurd summary by google. And people later found out that it was taken from an old Reddit thread.

Is this the AI that is going to render me jobless? I highly doubt that. It’s high time people realize that LLMs are not intelligent, and they are not accurate or reliable. Yes, there are loads of good use cases for them, but it will not give you AGI.
