Finding Motivation
Day 215 / 365
Does anyone else feel like they have been living weekend to weekend lately? You struggle through the week at your 9–5 job just waiting for that weekend to arrive. And when it finally gets here you try to hold on to each second of it, wishing for it to never end. You can’t possibly enjoy the weekends, as you are in a constant state of sorrow because you know the moment is fleeting, and soon you will have another week to somehow get through.
When you actually sit down and think about it, it really seems such a bad way to live your life. I think this is the main reason why people complain that time seems to fly by so quickly. We are voluntarily dragging ourselves mindlessly through 5 out of the 7 days.
See generally how these posts about self-help or motivation go is that you start off with a problem, you try to explain what the cause of the problem could be, and finally, for the third act, you give a solution for the problem. So far we have the problem that is
We have trouble enjoying our weekends
And the reason for that is
Our only motivation to get through the weekdays is to reach the weekends. We think it’s the only time we can enjoy which is why we hate the weekdays even more
So now all we need is a solution. I think everyone needs to find something to do during the week that’s actually fulfilling for them. And we need to get this out of our heads that we can only have fun during the weekends. If you find some motivation, weekdays can get excited too. I remember during school days I couldn’t wait for Mondays because new episodes of Pokemon and Beyblade were on during the week, 5 PM each day. If you have little things like these to look forward to during the week, that will surely make Sunday evenings less depressing. And I am sure we can all find some of these.
