Find a way or fade away
Day 146 / 365
What do you do when things aren’t going the way you planned. Do you just shrug your shoulders and accept there’s nothing you can do. Or do you say to the circumstances, “Not Today!” and keep fighting for what you want.
As much as we would want to be the second kind of people, those who get to where they want no matter what hurdles they have to cross, we know how tough it is in real life. Sometimes it’s just easy to accept defeat and move on with your life.
I think the problem is that most of us are fond of instant gratification, i.e. we want to feel good and we want to feel good right now. And if you are working towards a goal, whether it’s doing better at school or getting in better shape, it will probably be a long time before you actually start seeing any substantial results. This is why when we hit a rough spot or a dead end in our journey towards our goal, we might just choose to give it up.
The reality is that there will be several deadends along the way. But if you get through those, you will realize that all those hard days and sleepless nights were worth it. Surely life’s a climb, but the view is awesome!
So if you find yourself stuck in a rut, and life seems to be going nowhere, just remind yourself that it’s all part of the journey. Don’t give in to the desire for instant gratification. Take a deep breath and keep walking.
