Feel good movies
Day 314 / 366
Every now and then there will be times when you are feeling down, and you need something to lift up your spirits or just give you a good laugh. Some movies are great for this. I personally don’t like watching depressing or dark movies. I feel like there is already a lot of that in our real lives. Movies or TV shows are an escape, and they should be ones that make you smile.
You might already know the common feel-good movies. Maybe for you, it is 3 Idiots, or Swadesh, or Tamasha. But I have some not so popular ones that I go back to every now and then, and I wanted to recommend them here.
It’s a Wonderful Life
“No Man Is A Failure Who Has Friends.”
I watch this movie every New Year’s Eve. It’s kind of a tradition for me. The movie, originally black and white, came out in 1946, and so it is quiet old. But the story still feels wholesome and relatable. The gist of the story is that if you keep helping others, and doing good deeds, eventually the universe would do good things for you as well.
The Perks of Being a Wallflower
“We accept the love we think we deserve.”
This is another one of my favourites. It’s a coming-of-age movie about love, solitude, friendship, and trauma. But what I love about the movie is its amazing soundtrack. Songs like “Hero’s”, “Come On Eileen”, and “Pearly Dewdrops Drop”, to name a few.
