Day 96 / 365

“When looking back doesn’t interest you anymore, you are doing something right.”

As I am growing older I am realizing that all the quotes and sayings that I found so cliche and cheesy are actually quite deep and meaningful. “Think before you speak”, “Action cures fear”, “failure is the first step towards success”. One such saying that’s hitting home for me today is Change is the only constant in this world.

Why we hate change

We like things to remain the same as we are comfortable the way they are. Why fix what isn’t broken?

Change brings uncertainty. It brings you out of your comfort zone. A change would always bring with it a certain amount of struggle. This struggle might be short-lived, but it’s still enough reason for most of us to resist change.

Why we shouldn’t hate change

No one has achieved anything by staying in the comfort zone. “No Pain No Gain!” is another cliche saying that applies here. If you are not happy with the way things are, get up and do something about it. Make change happen. Take a chance, work hard, and accept the consequences.

It’s no better to be safe than sorry.
