Don’t let the beetles get you down
Day 252 / 365
I read a really inspiring story today that I think other’s should know of as well, so I am sharing the same in this blog today.
There’s a mountain in Colorado named Long’s peak. In the mountain there are the remains of a very old tree. The tree stood tall for over 400 years. It had been through so many rough times, endured several avalanches and thunderstorms. It had been struck by lightning about 14 times. But it still survived. So what eventually killed the tree?
It was an army of beetles. These little insects got into the tree and destroyed it from inside. These beetles are so little that you could crush them with your fingers, yet they took down this beast of a tree.
We are not much different. We have faced big battles in our pasts, survived several metaphorical storms. Yet now and again, it’s these little problems, our ‘beetles’ that bring us down. I am sure you would have loads of such little problems annoying you right now. But if you think about the biggest challenges you have overcome in your life, do these little problems even come close?
Don’t sweat the small stuff. Life is too short to be little.
