Dead people waiting to be revived

Day 285 / 365

I think the search for immortality is one of the biggest aims we have as a species. We are at a point now that most basic needs for life like food and shelter are easily met for the majority of people, and epidemics are a rare occurrence. So now we want to cure death!

Interestingly, for people in the past who couldn’t live long enough to witness the cure to death, there was still some hope. The idea was simple, they will get frozen and stay frozen for years till science has discovered a way to bring them back to life.

This practice is called Cryonics. This involves the freezing of a human body right after death (or in some cases just the head). It is argued that as long as the brain structure is intact by freezing, we can, in theory, bring people back to life.

As rubbish as it might sound to you, a lot of people have bought this idea, and have paid huge sums of money to have their bodies frozen. The first one was Dr. James Bedford in 1967, and since then over 250 bodies were frozen. The costs can go as high as 200,000$.

Unfortunately, most of the companies that went into this business have gone bankrupt, and the frozen corpses have been disposed of.
