Cold/Mess
Day 324 / 366
“I wish I could leave you my love
But my heart is a mess”
I am extremely prejudiced and judgemental when it comes to songs, movies, or TV series. But I am often wrong. For instance, when I first saw the name “How I Met Your Mother” for a TV series, I instantly formed the opinion that it was going to be horrible. And I avoided it for a long long time. But anyone who knows me will know that eventually, it became my favorite show ever.
I would say that the song “cold/mess” by Prateek Kuhad is the same. It used to pop up in my recommendations a lot and I would never play it. I thought it was another pretentious song about privileged people complaining about their so-called “relationships”. But a few months ago I heard the song at the suggestion of a friend, and I actually listened to the lyrics. And it was beautiful.
One of the things I love about songs like this is reading the comments below it. See these are songs that mean a lot to many people. Maybe it was the favorite song of a loved one that they lost. Or it was a song that helped them get over a breakup. The more meaningful the song, the better the comments. And the ones below this one don’t disappoint either.
Lately, my days almost always begin with this song. This song will forever remind me of November 2024.
