Childlike Happiness
I’ve been in a sort of constant pursuit of happiness for the past couple of years, which must be true for most people in their twenties. We keep on trying different things, shifting our focuses, from jobs to studies, to our social lives, trying to find that one thing that would cheer us up, permanently.
I haven’t been able to find it yet, but I keep looking as I know it's out there, I’ve seen it out there. Take kids for example. A simple balloon can keep a kid delighted for hours. And not just mildly interested, like what an average tv series does to you, that kid’s happiness level is at a solid 10, with just a 2 Rs balloon.
Adults pay serious money to achieve that level of happiness. They would pay 1000 bucks and drive in traffic to a standup comedy show, laugh for about an hour, and then drive back to their lives, filled with responsibilities and stress.
Hello again, to ordinary life.
Hello to mondays,
Hello responsibilities…
The kid just needs the balloon, and that bothers me. Somewhere over the years, our point of view changed. From dreaming about the future to reminiscing about the past.
