Challenges lead to creativity

I’m doing these blogs a little differently this time. See, the thing with me is, I get the hang of things quite quickly. I can write mediocre 2-min-read blogs at will now. All I have to do is to browse one of the 3–4 subreddits and look for an interesting post. From then on it’s basically just like writing an essay for a class.

I read last year about an artist who suffered from an accident, post which his hands used to shiver uncontrollably. He couldn’t even draw a straight line, let alone make the detailed artworks that he used to do before. But he had an epiphany. If all he could draw were squiggly lines, how about making artwork that was just composed of squiggly lines. And the results were amazing. Some of his new work received more praise than his older more precise paintings. What he had discovered is that by adding additional challenges, he was able to bring out more of his creativity.

So to keep things interesting, I’ve added a few more rules for myself. No Reddit allowed, or any other website for that matter. All of the posts this year so far have been written with just my thoughts alone. And I know these will be garbage. But who cares, I am not sharing these on social media anyways.
