Day 325 / 366

What do you think will take for you to be happy?

The thought came to me while I was watching the movie Kal Ho Na Ho. Last month has not been the greatest. Times were tough and it wasn’t fun to say the least. But today, watching a this 20+ year old movie, made me truly happy after a long long time.

Most of the things that stress me out actually don’t really matter. Take my work for instance. Instead of having a nice 9–5 job with a great and guaranteed paycheck, I run my own company where I have to worry each and every day about where and how the money would come from. But if I step back for a second and look at the situation, this is what I had dreamt of. I made a pact with myself that by the time I am 30 I would form my own company and be my own boss. And I was able to achieve all of that. If anything, I should be happy.

I should start looking at the positive side of things more often. An year ago I had the impression that I had run out of things that can make me happy. Tonight proved that to be wrong, and that’s encouraging.

If you haven’t already, please watch Kal Ho Na Ho.
