Apple announced the new iPhone 16 yesterday. And while they had the usual camera and processor upgrades, the most exciting stuff was how they integrated AI into their new iOS 18

And when I say AI here, I don’t mean Artificial Intelligence. Apple, like always has to put their branding on everything. They have come up with the term “Apple Intelligence”, under which they have integrated GenAI features right there on your phones.

For instance, using AI you can record your phone calls, transcribe them and generate a summary as well. AI will also help you summarize your emails and notifications. The mail and notes app will have all the generative AI features like rephrasing, grammar correction etc which we have gotten so used to over the past 2 years since ChatGPT came out.

The advantage here would be that while other AI apps require you to send your data to a shared cloud, where the privacy concerns might be huge, Apple Intelligence will make use of on-device processing and private cloud computing to make sure that no one, not even Apple gets access to your private data.
