About this blog
Day 75 / 365
I think this blog writing challenge has gone off the rails a bit.
Most of my blogs this month and 0 viewers. That in itself is not that big of a deal for me, since I don’t write this for gaining viewership. I do this for the challenge — the challenge of having to write one blog every day, regardless of the circumstances.
When I first undertook this challenge back in 2019, I used to share my daily blog posts on Facebook. This was crucial, as it meant I couldn’t merely write any random, low-quality content and post it as a blog. There was a possibility people might read it, which added to the challenge. It wasn’t enough to write daily; I needed to create something I would be proud of as well.
My inspiration was Casey Niestat, who revolutionized Youtube Vlogging. He maintained a daily vlog for almost 500 days without missing a single day. But that’s not all. Each and every one of his vlogs was well-made.
While every other daily vlogger was just using their phone cameras to film, Casey was out there with DSLRs, tripods, drones, and whatnot. Every vlog had the structure of a story — A beginning, middle, and end. He did not half-ass anything. That was my motivation.
But for the past few weeks, my blogs have been below par. Since no one was reading, I somewhat stopped caring about the quality of my posts. I want that to change now. I want to feel the pressure of having to write something good again, I think it improves my writing.
So starting today, I will share my blog on all of my social media. Let’s see how it goes.
