About Life and Tetris
Do you ever get tired of all the unending streams of problems in your life? I sure have, and I have had other friends say the same thing to me. The conversation usually includes this
Why can’t my life be without any issues for once? It seems that before one problem ends, another one comes up.
So your life is shitty because you have some problems to deal with. And you are aspiring for a perfect life where there are no problems. Well, I’ve got news for you — That will never happen. I have accepted the fact that there will always be one thing or the other that is wrong, something that I will have to work hard to resolve.
I like to explain this to people using the game Tetris. We all have played this game when we were little. Blocks of different shapes keep falling from the top, and your job is to move or rotate them so that they somehow fit. Sometimes things fit perfectly and all the blocks would vanish. But you can’t stop, the blocks will still keep falling. When the blocks do stop, it’s game over.
Wanting a life without problems is like playing Tetris and wishing that the new blocks stop coming up. The blocks are the whole point of the game, and if you handle the blocks well you get more points, it’s that simple.
The only place in the world where people have no problems is the graveyard. Obstacles are the whole point of life. Overcoming them is what makes you a better person. So don’t wish for a problem free life, wish that you have the courage and ability to handle whatever block life throws at you.
