A never-ending To-Do list
Day 190 / 366
Ever feel like you are running behind in life, always playing catchup with a never-ending list of tasks you need to get done? No matter how much you are able to accomplish, there is always new stuff coming in, adding themselves to the end of your To-Do list. All the pending work keeps you up at night, and even on your day off, you are never able to fully relax. You feel a slight guilt when you take breaks, as if you are wasting valuable time.
I have been in situations like this a lot in my life, and while I won’t say that I am an expert in dealing with them, I have figured out a few things that help.
Firstly, it is important to prioritize. When you have a lot to get done, it is easy to waste time on something that is not as important and find yourself with no time to do the stuff that actually matters. When you have 100s of things to get done in a day, you need to know which are the top 10 most important ones. And you need to make sure that the other 90 things don’t come in the way of finishing these 10.
Secondly, you need to keep telling yourself that it is ok if you don't meet your targets. It is obvious that you not going to get everything done, and that is fine. Sometimes when we try to get everything done, we end up getting nothing done. Just focus on doing the best that you can do.
Remember to not get overwhelmed. Take it one day at a time.
