Day 272 / 366

I once read in a book that in order to make a new habit or get rid of an old one, you need to do it consistently for 28 days. It’s a pretty neat trick. I cannot guarantee that it would work for everyone, but I can say this that it has worked for me in the past.

It may sound like an easy thing, after all, it’s just 28 days. But when you actually try it, you will see the common obstacles that come. Remember, you have to do it daily, there are no cheat days.

There will be days when you will be sick. Your natural instinct would be to rest, and not do anything. You will need to fight against that instinct in order to continue your 28-day plan.

Then there will be days where you are mentally not there. Maybe you had a stressful day at work, or you were scolded at by your teacher. Maybe you had a fight with your partner. Maybe you have been crying all day. You have to keep it all aside and find it in you somehow to work on your plan. And trust me it's really tough.

But if you can work through all of that, the results would be worth it. So do you have a habit that you have been thinking of building? Make a plan of what you want to do daily in order to accomplish it and start tomorrow. I am sure you will thank me 28 days later.
